Hannah:
An Autobiography of Hannah Simmons Gibb. Published in 1995.
Hannah
was born in 1855 in London, England. As a baby, she traveled to
America,
crossing the plains in a handcart, and settling in Lehi, Utah. As a
young
woman, she became the second wife of John Lye Gibb. She was forced "to
live on the underground" to hide from U.S. Marshals, who sought her
husband
on charges of polygamy. She was arrested and sent to an internment
camp.
In 1901, she moved to Canada, where she built the first house in
Raymond,
Alberta. As a mid-wife, she delivered hundreds of babies. In her 70s
she
started to write poetry. At 82 she wrote her personal history. This
book
contains selections of her poetry and her personal history.
