1991. Them of the Last Wagon by J. Robert
Fisher.
Them of the Last Wagon is a history of the Fisher,
Peirce and Neff families who participated in the settling of Utah. It describes
their historical origins in the Mennonites and Quakers of Pennsylvania.
As early convertsto Mormonism, they were forced to leave homes in Nauvoo,
Illinois and cross the great plains. Them of the Last Wagon
describes what it was like for the pioneers who followed faithfully their
leaders across the plains to Zion. "... day after day, they of the last
wagon pressed forward, worn and tired, footsore, sometimes almost disheartened,
borne up by their faith that God loved them, that the Restored Gospel was
true, and that the Lord led and directed the brethren out in front."
