Peace High School
University of Alberta trip - A grant was received to take students from four smaller Peace Wapiti high schools on a field trip to the University Alberta and NAIT. This trip was organized by CPHS. BLAST Tobacco students from CPHS went to three elementary feeder schools in Peace Wapiti and presented an anti?smoking program to grade 5 students. It’s the third year for this program. SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) attended the National conference. CPHS SADD students participated in the first ever National Students Against Driving Impaired Day in 1999. They were the very first school listed in the yearbook for the event. Our Junior High Boys Basketball won the 2A zone tourney last year for the first time since the early 1980's. Science students were sent on the "Voyage of Discovery" to the Gulf Islands. Students spent four nights and five days on motor sailboats learning and experiencing marine life, ecology and sailing. Our school band went to camp YoWoChas (one hour west of Edmonton) and spent 4 days participating in camp activities and music workshops.
