ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Continuation of Brummitt-Taylor Music Listening Program
School wide simultaneous silent reading for fifteen minutes
Sponsored two highly successful book fairs
Participated in AB Infrastructure's Child Safety Program - Walk The Talk
Phone Contacts with parents
Participated in the School Declamation Contest at the school and division level
Participated in the GP Music Festival
K-1 Farm Safety Presentations
Parent Teacher Interviews
Successful grade six Field Trip to Edmonton and Camp YoWoChaas
John Howard Society Presentations for Grades 1-6 on topics such as Conflict
Resolution, Shoplifting, and Introduction to the Young Offenders Act
"Artists in Residence" which included storytelling performances and literature based workshops enhanced with storytelling activities, drama and visual art
Swimming lesson Program coordinated in GP with pizza program organized to help offset bussing costs
Fine Arts Presentation - Ma Fletcher
Each class had a curriculum related field tip
Established Belief Statements which were posted in each classroom
Use of InteIliTools (computer program) to enhance programs of special needs students

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Staff Retreat at Camp Yo Wo Chaas - worked on School Goals, PD Growth Plans, Team Building and First Aid
In school PD session on the Safe and Caring Schools program to gain a working knowledge of the curriculum and explore ways to implement the program
In school PD session in May for Safe and Caring Schools and school disaster plan
Attendance by staff members at various conferences and workshops, i.e. Safe and Caring Schools workshops

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Shared cost with school for vests for school choir 
Held monthly parent council meetings 
Sponsored UPC collection for student activities 
Supported school staff in fundraising efforts for playground equipment 
Assisted in the exercise and dedication of the Faye Weisenburger 
Special Education Wing Purchased a bronze plaque to commemorate the wing 
Invited a facilitator to a meeting to assist in promoting more involvement in the school council by parents

Completion of asphalt basketball court with Map of Canada painted on it 
Completion of painted mural depicting that "SRE is for All of Us" on the outside east wall for our Millennium Project 
Display student work in hallway and professional artist displays in the library
