Reading to get the most from studies

Objectives for this unit:
In this unit you will learn reading strategies that will help you get the most from lectures, assignments and other readings.
1. You will test your reading speed and comprehension and by repeatedly practicing strategies improve your speed.
2. You will learn a method to help you read and understand textbooks.

Assignment 1. Test yourself to determine your reading speed and comprehension.

2. Then, after following suggestions to read faster, retest your speed. Continue to do this until you have successfully improve your reading speed.
3. Use a reading approach like the Bradford University approach for effective reading to outline and read a chapter from a textbook.  Email your chapter reading notes to your instructor.
